Bella Poarch, born on 9 February 1997 in the Philippines to Filipino biological parents. The girl was adopted at the age of 3 by her maternal grandmother living in slums. The adoptive parents of her are both native Filipinos. Her white American adoptive dad has an army background. She alleges that she, her adopted brother and their mother were subjected to abuse as children until she entered the military. The family relocated to Texas at the age of 13 because her father needed bypass surgery. They spent a few days living in San Francisco with her aunt. The physical violence stopped after a short time, however, she had to deal with psychological abuse by her father. She enlisted in the United States Navy when she reached the age of 18. Poarch started her TikTok account in April 202020. She quickly rose to fame, amassing over 40 million followers in under eight months. The biggest hit was the video she made for Millie B's hit track Soph Aspin Send. She lip-synced and jumped rhythmically to the beat in a video that was zoomed out. In the months after joining TikTok she launched a YouTube and Twitter account in order to make the most of her popularity. Her fame grew to a peak in December of 2020. She reportedly piqued the interest of two professionals Esports teams. 100 Thieves as well as FaZe Clan expressed interest in employing her to create content for the respective brands.
