Kristen Anne Bell, born 1980 in the US of America, is an actress and a singer. Bell is an Michigan native who was born and raised by her parents, Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) as well as Tom Bell (a TV news director). She was born in Michigan's Huntington Woods with the family of a Polish mother and a father who is German, English Irish, Scottish as well as Irish. Kristen developed a talent for the arts at the age of a child. She was just 12 when she attended her first audition, and was able to win a role in Raggedy Ann and Andy. Bell's mother established her with an agent when she was 13, and she was cast in television advertisements for newspapers and commercials. Also, Bell began taking acting lessons privately. Bell had a minor role, uncredited in Polish Wedding (1998), in 1998. Bell was a member of the Drama and Music Club of Shrine Catholic High School. The Wizard of Oz production at the high school she attended earned her the role of the lead Dorothy character. Following graduation, Bell moved in New York City to attend prestigious Tisch School of the Arts in which she studied musical theater. Bell graduated from her college in 2001 after she landed the role of Becky to play Tom Sawyer. Also in 2001 that Bell made her first appearance in a film that was credited to her, Pootie Tang (2002). However, her part was cut and the credits only show her. Bell appeared together with Angela Bettis and Liam Neeson in 2002's Broadway revival of The Crucible.
