Jill Hennessy
The native of Edmonton, Alberta has a multi-generational ancestry that includes Irish, Italian, Swedish, French and Ukranian. Jacqueline is her twin sister. She is also an actor. As a child, Jill became fluent in different languages such as Italian, French and Spanish. After the age of 12, she became intrigued by acting. Her acting journey began in Toronto by appearing in David Cronenberg's Dead Ringers playing an escort with his twin sister. Then she studied improv comedy at Second City with Deb Kimmet. After a few years, she went into New York and signed a deal for the role of Assistant District Attorney Claire Kincaid on the long running hit series, Law & Order. In addition, she appeared in movies such as RoboCop 3 (1998), Ron Howard's The Paper (2000) and I Shot Andy Warhol 1996) during her three-year run. In the years that followed her appearances in some forgettable movies. In 1999, she got a role as the lead in the miniseries uremberg along with Alec Baldwin. In major productions, like Autumn in New York and Exit Wounds followed. She landed the leading role for Crossing Jordan, the NBC police comedy Crossing Jordan in 2001. In 2007, she won the Gracie Allen Award for "Outstanding female lead in a drama series" in appreciation of her performance on the show. In 2000, she married her co-star Paolo Mastropietro. They have two children. She was inducted to Canada's Walk of Fame in 2007.
